What this site collects.
The Parlour is a hair and makeup salon in Charleston, South Carolina. This page covers theparlourcharleston.com. It is written in plain language rather than legal boilerplate, and it describes what the site actually does.
When you write to us
The contact form asks for your name and email address. A phone number, a subject and a message are optional. We use those details to answer you and nothing else.
The form is run by Jotform, who store the submissions on our behalf and email them to us. Their handling of that data is covered by Jotform's privacy policy.
We do not sell your details, rent them, or add you to a mailing list because you asked a question.
Measurement
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets cookies and records approximate location based on your network address, along with your browser and device type. It does not tell us who you are.
We also record when someone follows a link out to our booking page or our product shop, so we know which parts of the site are useful. That is a count of clicks and carries nothing personal.
If you would rather not be counted, most browsers can block cookies, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics everywhere.
Things this site loads from elsewhere
Typefaces come from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google when a page loads. The site is hosted by Vercel, whose servers keep standard access logs.
Where our links take you
Booking runs on Vagaro, products are sold through Salon Interactive, and we link to Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. Once you follow one of those links you are on their site under their privacy policy, not ours. Nothing you do there is visible to this website.
Appointments and payments are handled entirely by Vagaro. This site takes no bookings and no card details.
How long we keep things
Analytics data is kept for fourteen months and then deleted automatically. Messages sent through the contact form are kept while we are still in touch with you, and we remove them on request.
Children
This site is meant for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Asking us to remove your information
Email theparlourcharleston@gmail.com and ask. We will tell you what we hold and delete it. You can also call the salon on (704) 616-5449.
Changes
If we change how any of this works we will update this page and change the date below.
